Face to Face in Chile: In BAUNETZWOCHE #473, Professors Ansgar Schulz and Benedikt Schulz report on their excursion throughout Chile with students from the Technical University of Dortmund about socially responsible, participatory concepts and modest constructions methods with which several young Chilean architects are using to make their mark. This experimental use of materials, shapes and colours has also led to a rise in the international popularity of local architecture in recent years. Brave and playful, perhaps less perfectionist yet more conceptual, these protagonists are daring in their construction projects. Current projects and experiences of Chilean architects are presented through discussions.
